I’m Hugo Garrido‑Lestache, a Computer Science student at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), originally from Spain and raised in London when I was 8. I’m dual‑enrolled in the M.S. in Machine Learning and the bachelor’s in Computer Science, and I enjoy learning about and making AI. I like doing research projects especially in RL and would like to pursue a PhD in that space.

Around my friends I am called puzzle dealer. This is because I have a massive collection of puzzles (not jigsaws, those are not real puzzles, stuff like hanayama puzzles) which I like to solve and then give them out and share them when I am done. I love the Aha feeling I get from solving puzzles and generally thinking outside the box. If there was a career in solving puzzles I would do it. I have chosen to build and research AI because at times it feels like I am solving a puzzle. I love when I have to think outside the box to solve, when making AIs, and I can distinctly remember all of my Aha moments in my favourite projects. I aspire to make it my career to work with problems which can fuel my puzzle-loving self.

Apart from my projects, my internship, school and projects, I try to have a life (sometimes don’t succeed). I absolutely love climbing and have gotten pretty good I think. I love to watch anime, shows and movies. I like to play board games. When playing board games I sometimes intentionally turn into the joker and forget about the goal and attempt to accomplish some goal I set out for myself. I like video games, playing guitar and I am quite good at the yo-yo. I once tried to learn how to monocycle too. I also like cooking but mostly because I absolutely love eating!!

Please reach out to me if you want; however, I warn you that I follow an epsilon-greedy policy and one of my potential actions is to bite.
